The Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology Student Services Office offers a variety of services to our 9-12th grade students.
Our team and the services we provide focus on the whole student. We want our students to achieve success in all facets of their life while in high school. We provide professional and confidential assistance in seeking answers, finding resources, and working through difficult situations. We assist our students with academic, social, and personal concerns.

This Ms. Marsh's 12th year in student services, and I love it! She is a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, earning a Bachelor of Art in History and a Master of Art in School Counseling and a Master of School Administration from Elizabeth City State University.

Ms. Fuentes earned her Bachelor of Art in Psychology and French and Master of Art in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from UNC Charlotte. She is a true Charlotte native graduating from West Mecklenburg High School in 2009.
Fun fact about Ms. Fuentes: She speaks Spanish and French fluently. She loves to travel and lived in Paris for two years and taught English in South Korea for one year.

Ms. Slaughter started working in CMS in August of 2001. She has experience as a School Counselor in Elementary, Middle and High School. She also obtained her National Board Certification in 2014 while working at Harding High School. She is an alum of Johnson C. Smith University and UNCC.
Fun fact about Ms. Slaughter: She has one daughter Brianna and one granddaughter who are the apple of her eye! In addition, she loves to cook and enjoys being a part of an awesome Book Club!

Ms. Horton received her degrees from Hofstra University and Long Island University in New York. She has spent 25 years in the corporate sector and 23 years as a School Counselor. She has been with CMS since 2007 and at Berry since 2015.
Fun fact about Ms. Horton: She has 3 adult children and 1 granddaughter. She loves sports, specifically the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This is Ms. Paige's 13th year as a school counselor with experience in Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School, and now High School. She received her degree from Central Connecticut State University where she played D1 Collegiate Women's Basketball. She obtained her Master's in School Counseling from American Military University.
Fun fact about Ms. Paige: She is originally from New York State. She has two children, Jalen (12) and Aubree (10) and resides in Mooresville, NC. When she is not at work, she is often traveling, exploring new restaurants, and enjoying watching her children play sports on weekends.
Ms. Leonidas is our social worker for Phillip O. Berry Academy. She is originally from New England, but has lived in the Carolinas for the past 20 years!
She has worked in CMS for 16 years in several different capacities: from Coaching/Intervention supports, Attendance and Truancy ,to actual Social Work services.
Ms. Leonidas is married with 2 grown children. She went to school for undergraduate work at SUNY Albany and did her Master's degree at UCONN—Go Huskies!
Fun fact about Ms. Leonidas: She has 2 crazy dogs that love to hike and explore. One actually is trained as a Therapy dog and loves to visit schools and clinics.

Ms. Singleton is the School Psychologist for Phillip O. Berry. She has a B.S. in Psychology from the College of Charleston and Masters and Specialist in School Psychology degree from The Citadel- The Military College of South Carolina. She is at POB every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Fun fact about Ms. Singleton: She likes exploring new cities and restaurants. She enjoys strength training and barre exercise classes. You can also find her at Burn Bootcamp a few days throughout the week!

Mr. Hargrave is the Career Development Coordinator for Phillip O. Berry. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from High Point University, and my Master's in Education from N.C. A&T State University. He is certified in Business Education and Instructional Technology. He has been a POB Cardinal for 10 years formally serving as a CTE teacher.
Fun fact about Mr. Hargrave: He has been married for 26 glorious years and has two fantastic children who are 28, and 23 years old. He enjoys traveling, cooking, music, relaxing, and spending time with friends and family.

Ms. Johnson is the new Carolina College Advising Corps Advisor! She is a proud Niner, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ms. Johnson is currently attending Walden University to receive her Master’s in Social Work. She is also an alum of Phillip O. Berry.
Fun Fact about Ms. Johnson: She loves to play video games, trying new restaurants, and enjoying the ambience of cafes with a coffee and a snack. She has traveled to Prague and Budapest with plans to travel to Greece next year.
