The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, SS-ARS, is a system that CMS will be utilizing to support students with reporting unsafe situations on campus and in their community. Elementary students in 4th & 5th grade will be trained on how to use the system and the importance of reporting. Students will learn three steps that will help them keep their friends and classmates safe from hurting themselves or someone else. Students will learn how they can be an "upstander" by speaking up and taking action to create a safe community where all students are included and feel a sense of belonging.
The three steps in the training include:
Recognizing warning signs and threats,
Acting immediately; taking things seriously
Speaking to a trusted adult.
Students can report situations anonymously through the Say Something Mobile App, SaySomething.net, or by calling 844-5-SAYNOW or 1-844-572-9669.
Our 5th graders will receive their training from our school counselor, Ms. Powell, during their media class. If you have any questions about the student training, please contact her at deannam.powell@cms.k12.nc.us
