How can the Student Services staff support me?
We are here to help you navigate your way through middle school. We know it can be tough! We have your back and will do our best to give you the tools you need to be successful as well as the coping skills to help you manage your emotions.
What happens to the information I share?
Your school counselor, school psychologist, and school social worker will keep things between you and her/him unless you or someone else is at risk of being harmed or you agree to tell someone else like an administrator or your parent(s).
There are a variety of things you many need to talk about like the following topics:
Wanting to improve your:
Grades
Attendance
Behavior
Stress from school, home, peers
Grief due to the loss of a loved one
Friendships - making friends, keeping friends, "drama" with friends
Peer Pressure - knowing how to set and keep healthy boundaries
Anger - learning how to understand your emotions and react to things appropriately
Sadness - a general sense of sadness or something happened that makes you feel sad a lot
Conflict - learning how to get along better with others and communicate more effectively
Safety - finding healthy, positive coping skills that help you get through tough times
