My name is Susan Bailey and I am the Library Media Coordinator here at Selwyn Elementary. I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Educational Media. I earned both of these degrees from Winthrop University. In addition, I earned a certificate in English as a Second Language from NC State University. I love living in Charlotte and enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with family and friends when I am not at school.
The school year 2025-2026 marks my 32nd year at Selwyn! I have witnessed many changes over the years at Selwyn. These include watching the building of our new school and relocating the Media Center to our new facility. I love working with students and families and have watched families expand and grow up over the years. I love teaching and helping students to learn new skills and develop a love of reading and learning. I also enjoy working with the Selwyn teachers and helping them discover and use new resources.
