3. Annotate the Text: Chunk the text and stop to comment while you read. Be on the lookout for answers to questions.

• Literature and Poetry: Make inferences, predictions, and connections. Identify all figurative language and unknown words and determine their meaning.
• Informational: Identify the central idea of each chunk. Identify all unknown words and determine their meaning.

4. Answer the Questions: Select the best answer to the questions, and identify the evidence from the text that supports the answer.
