POWER SCHOOL PARENT PORTAL

Parent Portal

Starting this third grade year, your child will start receiving LETTER grades. You can look on my webpage, under GRADING SCALE, to view how your child will receive grades this year.

In third grade, we DO NOT send home paper copies of MIDTERM PROGRESS REPORTS.

As parents, you will need to look on the PARENT PORTAL for your child's grades.

This is an extremely important website for you to keep track of your child's progress. We will send home a paper copy of REPORT CARDS each quarter. If you do not have a log in # at this time, you will need to contact Cathie McCrory at cathiemccory@cms.k12.nc.us, our financial secretary. I DO NOT have access to any numbers or the system itself. WHEN I PLACE GRADES INTO MY ACCOUNT, I DO NOT VIEW THE SAME AS YOU DO ON PARENT PORTAL.

Thanks so much for using this site and for your patience with me working with it.

This school year, CMS has transitioned from the NC Wise student information system to a new electronic application called PowerSchool. This new software will replace all modules of NC Wise such as teacher grade book, Parent Assistant, and core student tracking software.

Parent letters (as seen in the attachment) are being created for all students who were enrolled as of August 1, 2013. Included in this letter are individual student user names and passwords with links for parents to set up accounts. Please note that accounts can be set up at any time but detailed information about students cannot be seen until these are added.

  • Parents can reset their passwords and with the web application, students must be updated by schools.

  • Parent Portal hotline will be staffed from August 19th until September 6th, 2013 from 8:00am until 5:00pm for assistance. As a reminder, the phone number for this support line is 980-343-9420.

    Parent Portal Fact Sheet

This summer, the state will update its student-information system. This will affect Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The new statewide system, called PowerSchool, is intended to provide parents with access to grades, attendance records, transcripts and schedules. PowerSchool will replace Parent Assistant starting mid-August 2013. CMS staff has been working with the Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh to help make this transition a smooth one for our parents and schools.
