We currently have 21 students in our class.

SNACK

Please send a healthy snack for your child to eat in class daily. Please refrain from sending desserts, candy, fruit cups, or juice. Snack should not be sent IN your child’s lunchbox as it might accidentally get eaten with the rest of lunch. Please pack snack separately in your child’s backpack.

Your child should wear comfortable clothes & sneakers on P.E. days.

Please return library books on or before Media days.

BIRTHDAYS

We celebrate students' birthdays in the classroom during snack time. Feel free to send in a store-bought treat to share with the class & I will serve it at the designated time. Homemade treats are not allowed to be served in school. Please notify me prior to bringing a treat so I can make sure to supply any students with allergies with an alternate treat.

Students with summer birthdays will have a designated date in June when we will celebrate summer birthdays together.

MYSTERY READER

Each Friday, we will have a Mystery Reader visit to read a couple of stories aloud to our class. Mystery Readers may be parents, grandparents, older siblings, etc... To reserve a spot, you can access the Sign-Up Genius HERE (coming soon). Please only sign up for one date at a time in order to allow all families to have the opportunity to participate. If none of the available dates work for you, please let me know and we will find something that works!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

One of my main goals as your child's teacher is to help your child to fall in love with reading! I strive to provide our little learners with an AMAZING class library filled with familiar characters, engaging stories, and early readers that children love. Our class receives points for FREE books from Scholastic whenever families place an order using our class code.

CLASS DOJO

Class Dojo is a FREE App that allows me to easily share photos and videos with families of some of the exciting things going on in our class. It is not required to join, but in the past parents have loved getting this little glimpse into our day! I don’t post daily but will occasionally share photos/videos on Class Dojo beginning on staggered entry days. If you do not want photos of your child shared on Class Dojo, please let me know. Please note that I do not use Class Dojo for communication with parents. Please send all communication through Parent Square to ensure that I receive it.

TAKE-HOME FOLDERS

Your child's blue take-home folder will be sent home daily. Please check for important papers and return it to school each day. Take-home folders also have our weekly behavior charts inserted in the front pocket. Please initial the behavior chart each day and discuss your child's behavior with them as needed.

PARENT SQUARE

For all communication, sending a message on Parent Square is the most reliable way to reach me. Please make sure you have the Parent Square app downloaded and notifications turned on, as this is also how I will reach out to you if there is ever anything urgent I need to communicate to you about your child.

DISMISSAL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES

If you plan for your child to be dismissed at the end of the school day differently than usual (for example: a regular bus rider will be a car rider on a particular day), please send a note in their take-home folder AND a message on Parent Square to let me know. If it is a DAY OF dismissal transportation change, you may send me a message on Parent Square but you also must call the school to notify the front office.
