3rd Grade Literacy

Students across the grade level worked on reading a complex text about the myth/legend of "the Green Man". Students discussed vocabulary and the nuances that differentiate words and their meanings. For example, arrogant, vain, and selfish can appear to be synonyms in general terms, but these students distinguished between each of them to better understand why an author would use all three in one sentence. Other complex tasks were explored as noted in the above image.

4th Grade Symbolism

Students read and interpreted the novel, City of Ember. Students performed a character analysis and demonstrated understanding through the creation of a symbol (or symbols) to represent a main character.
