Here is a copy of the project guideline, and each student received a task to do within their group

French I Part II: Francophone Country’ Food Project

· Your group will research a French speaking country of your choice using the guidelines below.

· Use Google Docs, Prezi, or Glogster to create a presentation of your findings;

· You will also create a visual print display (scrapbooks, posters, etc…)

· You may also use original drawings, photos, magazine pictures, or computer generated graphics.

· Include in your introduction the names of all your group members, the country name, and a picture of the country’s flag.

1. TASK: Write a one page description of your Country’s facts: include a colorful picture of the map of your chosen country with the capital clearly labeled, the population of the country, two tourist attractions in the country, currency used in your country and its exchange rate, four interesting facts about the people of your chosen country.

What is the literacy rate? What are the languages, and what types of food? Include pictures. This part only can be done in English.)

2. TASK: Create a $.41 postage stamp for your country reflecting an aspect of the country or culture. Create this using colored pencils.

3. TASK: Write a persuasive letter to the producers of a television cooking show, encouraging them to select one of your country’s recipes or restaurant. Be sure to give 5 reasons why this recipe or restaurant is the best choice for the show. (Food ingredients, food pyramid category, festival or celebration linked to it.) The letter should follow the basic letter format. Include a strong opening sentence as well as a well thought out ending to your letter.

4. TASK: Create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting two of your country’s food, recipes, or dish with a American food, recipe or dish. (Create a picture/poster that is half one food or recipe and half another food or recipe. Give a name to your new Food or recipe mix and describe/point out the similarities and differences of the two halves of your food and recipe. At least five differences and five similarities.)

5. TASK: Write a song or a poem describing your famous or country’s main dish or food.

· 6. Create a 30-60second commercial about your family. The commercial must highlight interest details about your family members that will qualify them for a reality TV show. (Highlight at least five 7-10 details about your family and provide a written copy of the commercial script.)


7. TASK: You will design a model of your country’s famous restaurant, which will include the restaurant’s name, logo, and menu cover design. Create your restaurant’s menu which must include appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks that are served, and prices. (Use country’s currency) you must include a recipe book for the menu, and a main dialogue for the restaurant.

Type your project neatly; this project is to be completed in French. You should demonstrate proficiency using the grammar and vocabulary learned in class.

You will have an oral presentation in class. Below is an example of what other students did in the past.

Create a French clothing store of your choice by using drawings, or magazine and computer generated photos.

Your clothing store should include the following

name of the store

French city for the store

Store schedule (time, days, special opening and clothing hours ex pendant la saison de l’été, or pour la fête de l’Independence give at least 3 special event hours)

30-100 different pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessories in the store (use articles define or indéfini for your clothing objects)

Inventory number of each supply including number, color (in French Word ex: Il ya vingt jupes; cinq bleue. Trois rouge Etc...)

Price of each clothing item in euro including sales for different season, holidays etc…

Create 3 different dialogues (dialogue need tobe based on weatheror) season between a vendor and a customer (use verbs and vocabulary learned in class to make complete sentences in French )
