French I Part II

Francophone Country’ Food Project

· Research a French speaking country of your choice using the guidelines below.

· Use google App, Prezi, or Glogster to create a presentation of your findings.

· Create a visual display (scrapbooks, posters, etc…)

· You may also use original drawings, photos, magazine pictures, or computer generated graphics.

· Introduction: Include the last names of all your group members, the country name, and a picture of the country’s flag.

· Write a one page description of your Country’s facts: include a colorful picture of the map of your chosen country with the capital clearly labeled, the population of the country, two tourist attractions in the country, currency used in your country and its exchange rate, four interesting facts about the people of your chosen country ( include one picture, for example, what is the racial make-up? What is the literacy rate? What are the languages, and what types of food?)

· You should demonstrate proficiency using the grammar and vocabulary learned in class.

· Write a persuasive letter to a family feud or wipe out TV host show, encouraging him or her to select one of your family members. (Choose one family member) be sure to give 5 reasons why this family member is the best candidate for the show. (Personality, physical, traits, professions etc…) the letter should follow the basic letter format. Include a strong opening sentence as well as a well thought out ending to your letter.

· Create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting two of your country’ s food, recipes, or dish . (Create a picture/poster that is half that is half of your family member and half of another family member. Give a name to your new family member mix and describe/point out the similarities and differences of the two halves of your family members. At least differences and five similarities.)

· Write a song or a poem describing your family or one particular family member.

· Create a $.41 postage stamp for your country. Create this using colored pencils, using the template provided.

· Create a 30-60second commercial about your family. The commercial must highlight interest details about your family members that will qualify them for a reality TV show. (Highlight at least five 7-10 details about your family and provide a written copy of the commercial script.)

· Type your project neatly. (this project is in French)

· You will have an oral presentation in class. (Pals rubric will be used to assess your reading, writing, and speaking.)

GUIDELINE

1. Draw your dream house on a paper (minimum 8X11). Your visual needs to be nice and neat. You can use one paper for each floor of your house. Use your best hand writing!

2. Label rooms, floors, outside spaces and furniture on your paper.

3. Don’t forget the articles for each noun. (le, la, l’, les/ un, une, des)

4. You need minimum two floors, six rooms, and twenty -five pieces of furniture.

5. Use a French/English dictionary and your vocabulary sheets to help you label your items on your poster.

6. Write one page paragraph describing your house( use verbs, and vocabulary learned in class)

7. Along with your dream house, you will research a French speaking country castle or noble house.

8. You will provide one page paragraph, and computer generated pictures or; you may show it on the computer.

I. Dans ma maison il ya douze fenetre, six portes, et cinq chambres. Ma hambre est petite avec une couleur rose, et dans ma chambre il ya un lit marron, un tapis rose, deux lampes, une chaise et un bureau. La chambre de mes parents est en bas; elle est grande avec un un grand lit noir, sur le mur vert, il ya une carte, une televion, et des photos/

II. Dans notre maison il ya deux chambre, une cuisine, deux salon, trois salle de bains, un bureau, et une garage. Notre salon est verte. Dans notre salon il ya un sofa, deux fenêtre, et un téléviseur. Notre cuisine est petite. Dans notre cuisine nous avons un réfrigérateur, un four, et beaucoup des placards. A côté de notre cuisine il ya la table de salle a manger. Dans notre salle de bains nous avons le lavabo et la toilette. Sur le lavabo il ya le savon. Dans une autre salon nous avons trois chaise, une table, et un tapis.

En haut il ya ma chambre. Dans ma chambre il ya trois guitares, le tapis bleu, un lit vert, et deux fenêtre. Ma chambre est jaune. A côté de ma chambre il ya ma salle de bain. Dans ma salle de bain il ya un lavabo, une toilette, un baignoire, et une douche. Au dessus de lavabo il ya un miroir. Dans notre bureau nous avons une chaise, une table, une grande fenêtre , et une bibliothèque. Sur la table il ya un ordinateur. De bureau est gris. La chambre de mes parent est grande. Ils ont un grand lit, une grande fenêtre, et deux commodes marron. La chambre de mes parents est bleu-gris. La salle de bain de mes parents est aussi bleue-grise. Il ya un lavabo, un baignoire, une douche, et une toilette dans salle de bain de mes parents. La fin.
