This school year I will be partnering with classroom teachers so that J. H. Gunn will become a Digital Citizenship certified school through Common Sense Media. I will be utilizing the Canvas course module to have all students complete their grade level lessons, discuss the videos and use the vocabulary in place. The Canvas course is based on Common Sense Media's curriculum using their wonderful toolkit and materials to help empower our students to thrive as digital citizens.
I have sent home materials in English and Spanish so that students and parents can have conversations about how to be safe online. I also presented at our ESL parent night in November, and at our School Health Fair where a table of materials were on display for parents with opportunities for them to take home materials in English and Spanish.
