DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED TO APPLY
You will receive an email within 72 hrs on the status of your application!
Please read and understand, parking is a privilege, not a right. There will be special attention to student drivers that are tardy/late to school. TARDY/LATE DRIVERS WILL LOSE PARKING PRIVILEGES. STUDENT DRIVERS WILL THEN NEED TO RIDE THE SCHOOL BUS OR FIND AN ALTERNATE WAY TO GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME. THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR GETTING A SCHOOL BUS RIDE IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT PROCESS, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Should maintain of 2.0 cumulative GPA
2. Must be a rising Senior, Junior, or Sophomore (MUST have a valid driver's license )
3. No recent disciplinary action or infraction
4. No financial obligation to the school or outstanding parking fines
After you apply, wait for an email that will give you the status of your application (if it's approved or disapproved). If approved, additional information will be given on how to make an online payment to the Independence Online Payment system and parking permit pick-up.
New Transfers to Independence HS for SY 23-24 – new students can submit their application online upon enrollment (must have NC Drivers License student Id).
Replacement Permits – students must submit a new “replacement permit application” and pay $15 fee to obtain a new permit if they are replacing a vehicle that was currently registered (must turn in the old permit). You must obtain a replacement permit prior to parking in the student lot or you will be fined/booted.
Temporary Passes – you must already have an approved parking permit before you can obtain a temporary pass for another vehicle due to maintenance (maximum 5 days). You must obtain a temporary pass prior to parking in the student lot or you will be fined/booted. See the AFJROTC department for details
