Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement Exam Information
The College Board AP Exam Registration is completed within the first month of school. Students must be registered for their AP Exams by September 22, 2023, through their College Board account. College Board requires students to enroll themselves. Hough High School does not have the ability to order exams on behalf of students unless they have joined their AP class in AP Classroom. Classroom and Exam "Join Codes" are available from AP teachers beginning on the first day of school. Exam fees are $94 and will be paid by the school district as long as the student is enrolled in the associated AP course and has completed the required AP registration process. Home-schooled students and students opting to take an AP exam for a course they are not enrolled will be responsible for this fee. There is an additional $40 fee for any late registrations or unused exams.
After AP Exams, AP Students need to indicate in MyAP the college, university, or scholarship program they would like to receive their free score report. Students indicate this information only through MyAP. To take advantage of their free score send, students need to indicate their score report recipient in My AP by June 20, 2023.
AP Testing is held on campus. Students are permitted (but not required) to be on campus before and after their exams. If students stay on campus, they must follow their regular schedules.
Students must bring a form of ID, black or blue pens, and pencils to their exams.
Students need to bring calculators to the following exams: AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics, and AP Statistics.
Exams will be given in the gym, Media Center, or designated classrooms. Check-in for 8:00 a.m. exams will begin at 7:15 a.m. Check-in for 12:00 exams will begin at 11:45 a.m.
Deadline for Accommodation Requests
January 15, 2024, is the deadline to submit accommodation requests for students with disabilities and, when required, complete documentation for the 2023 AP Exams. If requests are submitted after this date, there is no guarantee that accommodations will be approved or appropriate exam materials will be shipped in time for the exam. For information on what documents are required and to initiate the process, please see the College Board SSD website. You will receive a notification letter/email after a decision has been made.
