Hopewell Titan Battalion AI

First Sergeant (1SG) Nestor Rivera is an Army Instructor for the JROTC program at Hopewell High School.  1SG Rivera joined the Army in 2001 where he served as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. 1SG Rivera has served tours in Korea, Hawaii, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and numerous stateside locations. He is an Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom Veteran.  He has served in various leadership positions, which include but not limited to Squad Leader, Senior Mechanic, Platoon Sergeant, Battalion and Company Motor Sergeant, Company Operations Sergeant, Advanced Individual Training Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Battalion Operations Sergeant.

1SG Rivera retired in April 2023 after over 22 years of active service to the Army.  1SG Rivera has an Associates Degree in Applied Science and teaches the LET LVL I Cadets at Hopewell High School.  He is the Head Coach of the Drill Team and assists with several other JROTC academic and athletic teams.
