Meet The Teacher

My name is Mrs. Carolyn Simmons and it is a pleasure to teach your child this school year 2022-2023. We are off to the start of the year with many unknown answers but we will work together to stay connected and provide the best education for your child. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology for Livingstone College and I earned my Birth to Kindergarten teaching certification for The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have a Master's Degree in Early Childhood from Walden University. I have 23 years of teaching experience with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I bring dedication and extreme motivation to my classroom and teaching experience. My areas of interest is to follow the models of best practice and researched base in educational instruction. I am a Charlotte Teacher Institute Follow for 2019-2020, 2020-2021 and 2022-2023. My educational philosophy is that every child can learn and that learning is for every child. I focus on STEAM education and Mindfulness for learning. My focus will be to develop a cultral diverse learing enviroment for all childrne and families.
