Communities In Schools (CIS) believes there is greatness in every child. We see their potential and provide opportunities for them to realize that potential by helping them to set goals for themselves. Our mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We work very closely with every child and family helping them to realize their possibilities and how to achieve and maintain upward economic mobility. We help students overcome barriers and real-life challenges that they face every day. We focus on the strengths of individual students and provide them with the tools necessary to reach their greatest potential. We connect them with caring adults and community resources to help them succeed. We provide clothing, health screenings, academic support, mentoring and exposure to cultural and life experiences.
