Vocabulary
We are implementing the EL/LearnZillion curriculum this year across CMS. This curriculum has vocabulary built into the daily lessons.
Our approach to ELA vocabulary study is as follows:
- Vocabulary words (and associated Greek and Latin affixes and roots) are provided to the students each week in Canvas.
- Students will work with those words throughout the week during class.
- Students will take a weekly quiz on those words.
- Occasionally, students will be given cumulative tests on vocabulary to ensure they are working with these words on a regular basis.
