Policies & Procedures

Making up Missed Work:

Students are responsible for making up all missed work when they are out. They should check the absent bin for any missed worksheets as well as Canvas course. The responsibility relies on the student to learn the missed assignments.
Students will be given 4 additional days to earn full credit.

Making up Missed Assessments:

Students have 5 days after they return to make up any missed assessments. This cannot be done during school time. They need to speak to the teacher to make arrangements to stay before or after school.

Late Work:

10% point deduction until day 10.
After day 10, a student will receive a 1% in the gradebook, if the assignment is turned in.

Retesting:

Retesting is allowed for full weighted formal assignments only and if the student scores below 80%. The student must complete the required remediation to take the retest. They have within 10 days of the assignment being given to do this.

Scheduling Conferences:

send an e-mail to the students counselor and copy my e-mail address (lisan.denstaedt@cms.k12.nc.us). Counselors are responsible for scheduling a parent-teacher conference. If you don't know your students counselor, you can find out that information at bigibelieve.com

Grading Policy:

100-90 A

89-80 B

79-70 C

69-60 D

59 and below F

A student must receive a 60% or above for their semester grade in order to receive credit for English 3. English 3 is a graduation requirement.
