Parent and Student Responsibilities:

Log-in information for PowerSchool can be obtained through the Data Manager.
Ensure that scholars are completing their own work and not “copying” work from other sources (including plagiarism).
NOTE: Northridge’s staff will follow the consequences for “cheating” as outlined in the CMS Code of Conduct. This does include scholars receiving a zero for the assignment until further arrangement with parents can be made.
Progress Report Grades:
CMS requires teachers to notify parents periodically of scholars’ progress.
The Mid-Quarter Progress Report is to be used as one of these notifications.
All teachers are required to send progress reports home for all scholars on designated days.
Teachers are also required to make a phone call and/or email with a response to the parents of scholars who have a “D” or an “F”, or who have a dramatic change in grades or attendance. (This communication should be more than a signed progress report.)
A list of potential failures should be sent to the appropriate counselor and GLA after the progress reports are issued. Progress reports should be returned to the teacher with a parent signature.
If they are not returned, teachers are responsible for making additional parent contact and following up with appropriate consequences.
