Update 12/8/25
Good afternoon families,
5th grade students will take a trip to JT Williams Secondary Montessori school this Wednesday. It's a free trip but I need the permission slips in order for them to go. They will return before our regular lunch time.
Winter Village will take place on Thursday, December 18. There is a presentation from PTO and a Sedgefield Sound Chorus Performance from 5-6. From 6-7 you may drop in our classroom to see projects that the kids have been working on this year.
On Friday, December 19th, the students are planning a hibernation day.
They have suggested a "Secret Snowflake" gift exchange. The limit for the gift exchange is $15.
This gift exchange is optional, and we already have a few kids that chose not to participate. If you do not wish to have your child participate, please let me know by tomorrow so that the student planning group can make adjustments.

Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is doing well. We have a field trip on Friday November 14th to see a play about Bessie Coleman, "Fearless and Free The first African American woman and first woman of Native-American descent to hold a pilot’s license. This show will extend our discussion on US History and Human Rights." The green permission slips were sent home today. Please pay the $25 fee online as soon as you can. Be sure that the dropdown menu says Ms. Monique and the grade level that matches your child!

Good afternoon parents,
We are building a wonderful community of learners. I can't believe that we are finishing a second week! This week's communication is long but important.
Thank you for filling out the paperwork that was sent home. As we transition to our new Infinite Campus platform there has been some setbacks; like teachers being unable to see paper work that was sumitted. As we work behind the scences to get the information, I appreciate filling out the forms that were sent home.
Tonight your child will bring home planners to see what we have been working on. Please read through, sign and help your child to remember to pack it in their backpacks and show me in the morning.
Summer birthdays will be celebrated tomorrow.
We have iReady testing next week Thursday and Friday. No advanced preparations are necessary other than a good night's sleep, a filling breakfast, and reasurance of how amazing your child is. They may also want to bring a sweater or jacket. It can get chilly while sitting still.
