The Read to Achieve legislation requires the use of a subset of 16 NC ELI developmental objectives and dimensions to address the requirement for a screening of early language, literacy, and math skills. Teachers observe and document within the online NC Teaching Strategies portfolio and indicate preliminary levels for at least 9 of developmental objectives and dimensions for all students by October 6, 2023. Following the first 30 days, teachers will continue to collect documentation on the first 9 dimensions as well as the remaining dimensions but do not finalize all 16 objectives and dimensions with a checkpoint until November 9, 2023.
