The CMS Housing Initiative is a component of our district's Total Rewards Compensation campaign. The immediate goals of the initiative are to create a discounted rental program for new and current teachers and to inform staff of the city's housing and lending opportunities available to CMS employees.
The results of a recent survey completed by Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools staff demonstrate that:
57% of respondents are interested in home purchasing
30% of respondents are interested in rental opportunities
93% of respondents listed cost as the most important consideration
61% state that housing may impact their desire to continue working in CMS
While CMS does not create the compensation structure for our staff, we advocate strongly for them to continually be compensated for the work that they do. What we are able to offer is great benefits, support, environment, and opportunities for advancement and growth.
