The CMS Housing Initiative is a component of our district's Total Rewards Compensation campaign. The initiative's immediate goals are to create a discounted rental program for new and current teachers and to inform staff about the city's housing and lending opportunities available to CMS employees.
The cost of living in Charlotte is rising, and CMS educators are feeling the squeeze. When surveyed:
69% of respondents are interested in home purchasing
32% of respondents are interested in rental opportunities
79% listed cost as one of the most important considerations
43% said housing may impact whether they continue to work with CMS
While CMS does not create the compensation structure for our staff, we advocate strongly for them to continually be compensated for the work that they do. What we are able to offer is great benefits, support, environment, and opportunities for advancement and growth.
