Promethean Trouble-Shooting
The optimal solution is to use the CMS laptop with the HDMI output.
The preferred methods of connection are HDMI, HDMI with adaptor or ActivCast
Chromeboxes:
Why they may time-out so quick - Could possibly be the user Google account or may not be in the correct OU
Need to be connected into HDMI 2 & Touch 2 for proper integration.
If VGA is used as the input with the Android model, the Promethean features will not be accessible or have interactivity.
If using VGA there may be no sound, that means you will need an audio cable or an HDMI to Display adaptor.
The reason why this is an issue, is because the installer reuses the cables in the classroom to connect you
The adaptor will give you both video and sound
Resolution will be changed from its current settings with an adaptor.
If there is a calibration issue, this generally means that the PC monitor is a 4:3 monitor and has issues syncing up with the 65” panel.
The fix is either to have the PC monitor on extend or have a 16:9 monitor.
If your sound is too low for your classroom: (Only for the 1st Promethean Panel CMS purchased)
Swipe down from the top
Swipe down a 2nd time
You’ll see a gear at the top
Select the gear.
In the menu you will be able to turn up the volume
How to find out an attached Chromebox’s serial number
At the Log-in screen – press Alt V
At the top right of the screen the serial number will be displayed
How to find out the Panels’ serial number
Go to the update app through the locker
Once in Update the serial number be on screen
Cleaning:
No ammonia based products. Lysol wipes are not recommended as they leave residue on everything. Encore used a microfiber cloth with a little bit of water on it. If it need needs to be disinfected, they can use another cleaner with no ammonia.
