CHMS Spirit Rock

Families who would like to celebrate a special occasion through painting the rock can “reserve” space by contacting Beth Beare (or Ms. Shore). We don't have a very stringent process for reservations as we cannot guarantee that the rock will not be updated or altered outside of this process. However, we can assign a space of time on our school calendar. From the evening before the targeted date through the following day after, we will list the rock as “reserved” with the following procedures followed:

The CHMS School Rock can be reserved through our CHMS Fine Arts Booster Club (FAB) as a Fabtastic Donor. FAB receives a small donation for each reservation, which helps support our Fine Arts programs. 

A $20 donation (non-refundable) may be made online by visiting https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com/activitiesforms/2637  .

There you will see the link to the Fine Arts Club Membership Form. At the bottom, there is information to donate as a Fabtastic Donor.

1. You may donate online through your Pay4school account. 

Or, you may pay by cash or check (payable to CHMS FAB). Please drop off your donation in the school’s front office. Place it in an envelope addressed to CHMS FAB. Include your full name and student's name, “Re: Rock Painting Request,” and your requested date.

School Rock Guidelines

• You may begin painting the rock on the evening before your reserved day.

• Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. All materials and painting supplies are your responsibility. Properly discard all painting supplies when finished.

• ONLY the rock can be painted. Painting on sidewalks, grass, or buildings is prohibited. Any damage or destruction to the surrounding areas or buildings will deem the reserved as financially responsible for cleaning and repair costs.

• If the weather is inclement, you may reserve another date based on availability.

• CHMS cannot guarantee that the rock will not be updated or altered outside of this process. If so, we will try to accommodate a replacement date based on availability. 

• No person shall make, distribute, or display on the school’s campus, any statement, abbreviations or words that unlawfully defames any other person or organization.

• In accordance with the student code of conduct, all messages painted on the school rock must be in good taste and may not contain any foul language, discriminatory or political remarks. Profanity and obscenities are not permitted.
