Meet Mr. Burgess

Hello,

My name is Mr. Cato Burgess! I am thrilled to be your child's 6th Grade Mathematics teacher for the 2018 - 2019 school year. This is my 6th year teaching at Southwest Middle School! I am excited and anticipate this being my best year yet!!!

I grew up in South Carolina. I attended college at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC where I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and my Master of Business Administration. After several years of working in the banking industry, I switched careers and began teaching. I have found this transition to be rewarding and a constant challenge. I plan to pursue additional degrees and/or certifications in education in the near future.

My hobbies include: Hanging out with my wife and our two children, working with my son's cub scout pack, volunteering in the community and working out
