Dear each NHS member of the 2022-2023 school year,

Official Service Requirements:

As part of your required 18 hours of service for being a member of the Butler National Honor Society, you are required to complete 6 "inside" hours . This may include service to your assigned teacher or other NHS approved activities.

1. 2 of 6 inside hours due by November 1st. 4 of 6 inside hours with your assigned teacher are due January 31st.

2. Members may NOT "double-dip" - use credit for a NHS submitted service activity towards another club or organization’s service hour requirements.

3. NHS volunteers are not allowed to grade papers, file completed student work or interact with PowerSchool under any circumstance.

4. Inside hours must be completed before or after school. It will be the job of NHS member to arrange service opportunities with a teacher of BHS staff member. ​​

   • Make sure to remind your teachers to email Mr. Buck your name and completed service hours after each session.

5. Outside hours must be completed before or after school. It will be the job of NHS member to arrange service opportunities with an appropriate supervisor/coordinator.

6. It will be the responsibility of the NHS member to track and submit outside service hours throughout the year.

7. All service hours must be completed and submitted no later than April 3rd.

• October 10th- NHS Dues Due

• October 21st- Second Meeting

• November 1st- 2 of 6 inside hours due

• November 14th- Inductions

• November & December- No meeting

• January 27th- Third meeting

• January 24th- 6 of 12 outside hours due

• January 31st- 4 of 6 inside hours due

• February 24th- Fourth Meeting

• March 23rd- Fifth Meeting

• April 3rd- ALL HOURS DUE
