I am beginning my 6th year of teaching High School English at Hough. I have previously taught English I, and I will be teaching English IV and AP Literature and Composition this year.
I came to teaching from a career of practicing law, as well as working with college and law students as an academic librarian and adjunct professor of legal research. I look forward to working with Hough Seniors as they continue their academic efforts while beginning to plan and create a future path that will allow them to share their interests and gifts with a broader world.
Many years ago, I was a CMS student myself. My education more than adequately prepared me for college, graduate school, and a range of challenging careers. I have lived and worked in Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and New York City. I have three children who all graduated from Hough and who are now pursuing higher education and their own careers. I love the mountains of North Carolina and I spend many autumn weekends and summer days near Boone and Blowing Rock. I read constantly, but I also love music, movies, and television.
