Hello parents and students. I'm Karen Klemm-Cashion and I am starting my 23rd year as a middle school counselor. I helped open Bailey in 2006 and have been here ever since. Prior to working at Bailey I was part of the counseling team at Bradley MS for 4 years. I frequently refer to middle school as “the years of forgiveness”. These are years that kids can and will make mistakes, but it is also a time that they learn to recover from their mistakes and move on. This is what makes working with middle school students challenging and rewarding, and why I’ve chosen to work with this age group for so long.
I have been a resident of Davidson for 29 years. My children, Kevin and Katie (now adults) attended Davidson ES, Bailey, and Hough and both currently live and work in Charlotte. When I’m not working at Bailey I enjoy lake and beach time with my husband and our 2 year old pug, Chico.
This is my 10th year as a School Counselor inclusive of my second year at Bailey and third year with CMS. I’m originally from New Jersey and I have two children, one boy and one girl. I relocated to North Carolina from New Jersey three years ago for the warm weather and unending sunshine. I have worked in educational settings at the middle school and high school levels, and it has been a tremendous pleasure. I look forward to partnering with the families, teachers, administrators, and the community as an advocate and supporter of student excellence. I attended the University of Arizona for my undergraduate degree and Kean University for my graduate degree.
In my spare time, I enjoy my family, traveling, poetry, the beach, and giving back to the community . I know this will be another successful at Bailey and I will be here for you every step of the way. It will be a year filled with growth, learning, new adventures, and fun. I am happy to be part of the Branco family and look forward to having a great year with you!
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Hello Bailey Families,
I am Renee Gill, the Section 504 Counselor at Bailey Middle. This is my 4th year at Bailey Middle and my 23rd year in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I started my educational career as a middle school math teacher at Randolph Middle and later transitioned to a school counselor after graduate school. I have experience in all grade levels but truly love the middle school years! My main role is to work with the support team at Bailey to develop plans to assist students with disabilities. The goal is for all students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
I am from a small coastal town called Council, NC but I have lived in Charlotte for over 20 years. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education from Fayetteville State University and Master of Education Degree in School Counseling from Winthrop University. My husband and I have two lovely daughters that are in middle and high school. We also have the cutest cocker spaniel you will ever see named Mickey! I am glad to be a part of the Bailey team. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Hi parents and students! I am Jennifer Dennis RN, BSN School Nurse, at Bailey Middle School. I have been a registered nurse since 2000, initially graduating from Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, and then furthering my career by completion of my Baccalaureate degree. I have enjoyed my nursing career both in the acute hospital setting, outpatient setting, and now as your school nurse here at Bailey since 2013. Other than being your school nurse, I enjoy spending time with my husband watching our three children grow and thrive in this very community. I am here and willing to help support your child's medical/health needs. This is inclusive of their needs at school or if you have any questions about any support needs for your child while they are at home. Feel free to contact me.
Hello Bailey families! My name is Brent Croker and this is my 7th year as the School Psychologist for Bailey Middle School. I have been in CMS since 2002, where I have served various elementary and middle schools. I started my career in Gaston County in 1997 after earning my Ed.S. in school psychology at James Madison University.
At Bailey, I help with academic and behavior interventions for students, assessing needs for kids to be successful in school, and working with students individually and in groups to improve their outcomes in school and in life. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, playing tennis, and snow skiing. I especially enjoy travelling with my wife, who is a French Immersion Teacher in CMS, and my daughter, who is a senior in high school. I've made it to 48 states and hope to get to Alaska and South Dakota in the near future to reach all 50!
