Meet the Team

I am excited to introduce myself as the 6th grade counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. This will be my third year with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I hold a Bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and a Master's degree from Montreat College. In December 2025, I will complete additional studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Outside of my professional life, my husband, Desmond, and I enjoy traveling, new adventures, and spending quality time with our family and friends. I look forward to working with you and your students this year.

Welcome back! I am Mrs. Mitchell and I was the AG 6th grade counselor at the end of the 24-25 school year. I am looking forward to continuing to build relationships with the students and their families this year in 7th grade. I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from UNC Charlotte. Personally, I like to spend time with my husband, Jason, and our dog, Juicy. I enjoy traveling and have gone to over 25 different countries! In my free time, I enjoy doing puzzles, reading, participating in sports, and watching them (especially my soccer team- Tottenham Spurs). 

Hi Everyone!  Mrs. Payne here, back again for my 4th year at AG!  This year I will be serving our 6th graders and look forward to tackling the middle school journey with them over the next three years. A little bit about me; I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) and my master’s in Counseling from Georgia State University.  Before coming to AG, I was a High School Counselor in CMS for 10 years.  In my free time, I love watching Clemson football, Burn Boot Camp, Taylor Swift, and attempting HGTV(ish) home projects.  My husband Hunter and I have a spunky six-year-old daughter, Logan, and a wild 18-month old, Hannah.
