University Innovation Fellows (UIF)

Three CMRIT students Asher John Sathya, Priyanka Srivastava, Abhay Rangan were selected as Stanford University d.school’s University Innovations Fellows (UIF) Program in September 2017, and received Google's US$4000 Scholarship to attend UIF meeting @ California, USA, March 2017. This was followed up with priyanka attending GHC meeting, USA in November 2017, Asher and Priyanka attending silicon valley meetup in march 2018 as FABs & finally a Google DSC meeting visit by Anoop CJ, Lead Google DSC, in May 2018. In all cases, our CMRIT guys ended up being speakers in one or other sessions!

The accomplishments of these students in last one and half years is

Abhay: Secured a 2.5 crore funding for his startup, Received a US$ 15,000 scholarship to attend a residential entrepreneurship training in Boulder, Colorado, featured in Forbes future list of potential entrepreneurs.

Priyanka: She secured US$3000 to attend the grace hopper celebration of Women in India & USA and recently selected as UIF FAB and traveled to Silicon valley with a scholarship from Stanford. She is now placed in an MNC and also won our prestigious CMR leadership award, 2018!

Asher: Shouldered the responsibility of spreading Design thinking at CMRIT, initially trained few hundred students at CMRIT, then went on to train Google campuses in India and recently visited silicon valley as UIF FAB with a scholarship from the Stanford d.school. His design thinking students have filed four patents from CMRIT and one of them started a start-up and successfully licensed one of the patents.

These 3 UIF students brought the movement of student innovation to CMRIT! One of the students, Abhay Rangan has been featured in "Forbes" as one of the few "budding entrepreneurs" in the world.
