A Pressing Issue!
As the world struggles with the myriad web of problems brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, we may recognise that the aviation industry was one of the first to suffer a major blow as multiple restrictions were imposed on movement of people and for more than 2 months the Indian airline industry was completely shut down. This has actually led to many airlines moving towards a situation of fast track bankruptcy as Indian aviation industry is not structured to cushion even regular shocks. The lock-down greatly impacted the airline industry and led to huge losses. It has also led to multiple issues such as the effect of this loss on the consumer, whether there will be a steep increase in the flight rates over a period of time, whether such a situation would lead to the government considering nationalising the airline industry and a host of other issues.
