Established in 2003, under the name and style of CMR University, School of Legal Studies, the institution has been actively engaged in shaping young legal professionals for 14 years. For the past six consecutive years, CMR School of Legal Studies has been ranked amongst the top law colleges in India by leading national magazines.

The CMR University, Center for Environmental Studies: Law & Policy was established in the year 2021 with the vision of creating legal awareness and imparting knowledge on the subject of environmental law. The Center focuses on imparting knowledge in the field of environmental law.

The Center for Environmental Studies: Law & Policy, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) T.R. Subramanya (Dean, CMR University, School Of Legal Studies) and Prof. Gayathri N.M. (Faculty-in-charge, CMR University, Center for Environmental Studies: Law & Policy), is focused to work in the field of environmental law, studies and policy.
