About
Environmental Law is a collection of laws, regulations agreements that govern how humans interact with the environment. The Purpose of environmental law is to protect the environment and create rules for use of natural resources. Man’s activities through urbanization, industrialization, mining, etc. are at the forefront of environmental pollution. Environmental Pollution and degradation remain the world’s greatest problems today. Humanity has understood that our survival and wellbeing depend on the protection of the environment.
CMR University, School of Legal Studies has initiated to establish a Center for Environmental Law. The Center was created in February 2021, with an object to promote legal education in the field of Environment and Law. The Center aims to promote a sense of responsibility in students towards environmental protection and preservation.
The main focus areas are:

Clinical training to students in Environment and Law
Contributing towards Sustainable Communities& Environmental Justice

OBJECTIVES
To envision enhanced awareness of environmental laws and policies among stakeholders.
Conducting law and policy research on various aspects of environmental laws and policies in India and abroad.
To share research output with major stakeholders particularly policy-makers through engagements and interactions.
Inspire and educate students by providing hands-on advocacy experience and direct exposure to the challenges of environmental law.
Engage and collaborate with local communities and environmental groups.
To advocate for reforms in environmental laws through scientifically sound and pragmatic legislative proposals.
To Strengthen access to justice by providing high-quality legal research and through participation in administration and court proceedings.
Spread awareness on environmental conservation through community outreach programs.
Educate Students towards an environmentally friendly way of life.
