First Grade Teacher- Carmen Claudio
Hola! I am Mrs. Carmen Claudio and I’m super excited to be a first grade teacher in the Spanish Immersion Program. I served as a kindergarten teacher in CMCSS from 2010-2013. I then moved to Cheatham County from 2013 until now, where I serve as the ESL teacher (English as a Second Language). I was born in Puerto Rico where I began my schooling at the University of Puerto Rico. I completed my undergraduate from Austin Peay State University with a major in Education (K-6), and a minor in Spanish. I also have an ESL endorsement.
My husband and I have two beautiful daughters, and four wonderful grandchildren. After so many military moves, my husband retired at Ft. Campbell, KY and decided to finally settle in Tennessee.
My hobbies are hiking, exercising, reading, cooking, and gardening. I’m a nature lover, where I find peace and relaxation.
I am thankful for the opportunity to teach “Español”, my home language, to the students at Barksdale Elementary School.
First Grade Teacher- Crystal Sandoval
Hola! My name is Crystal Sandoval and I am very excited to join the Spanish Immersion team here at Barksdale Elementary School. I am originally from New Jersey but have grown up here in Clarksville and now call it home. I graduated from Middle College @ Austin Peay State University and continued my undergraduate education at APSU. I recently completed my Master’s degree in English Language Learning at Western Governor’s University. This will be my third year teaching within the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, and I’m so excited that my journey continues with the Spanish Immersion Program. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband and “fur-baby,” Milo, but a close second is teaching and helping my students excel!
Educational Assistant- Lettie Good
Lettie, originally from Texas, came to Clarksville via her husband's military career. Having raised 2, now grown children, she spent many years volunteering in schools and church. We are very fortunate to have Ms. Lettie with us to share the Spanish language with our students.
