Introduction/Unit 1 Powerpoint

The Introduction powerpoint is included in the Unit 1 powerpoint presentation on Line.

Art 1 - Required Materials

Pencil and Eraser - All students need a pencil and eraser daily in class.


Sketchbook - All students will need a sketchbook for daily notetaking, exercises, and sketches. This should be something that is easy to carry with you and at least 80 sheets of paper. I would recommend something around 8 x 10 inches and spiral bound. You can find sketchbooks at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Target, Amazon, etc...


Other Recommended Supplies

These are items you may want to have access to periodically and will be available in class when required.


Pencil Sharpener, Scissors, Ruler, Colored Pencils, Tape, Glue Sticks, Pens


You are more than welcome to bring in your own supplies for projects if you prefer to use your own. However, We may or may not have a safe place to store them in the classroom.

Coffee Cup Design

This is the first art-making assignment in Art 1. Students will be provided with paper and some materials to create their artwork. Students will receive 1 class period to complete their drawing

(if more time is needed students will have time at home to complete it prior to the next class period.)

Students are to design a Coffee Mug that explains who they are and what "Fills" them up. Students will present their drawings the next class period. This assignment will be graded using the Generic Art Rubric.

Pre-Assessment

All Students will complete the pretest within the first 5 days of entering the class. New students will also need to complete this assignment when they are added to the course.
