In this unit, students will read a variety of fictional stories told from different points of view and perspectives—both human and animal. They will build schema around the following concepts:

Literature

• The narrator’s point of view influences what a reader knows and feels about the events of the story. Each point of view offers a different perspective on events.

• Characters’ traits are revealed through their dialogue and actions.

Social Emotional Understanding

• People’s or characters’ unique perspectives influence the way they understand others as well as events in the world around them.
