How does your middle school counselor support your social and emotional needs?
Individual counseling: You may request to see your assigned counselor through the Counseling App in Classlink. They can provide you with short-term support in any social and emotional needs that are affecting you in school such as friendship issues, grief, anxiety, and goal setting.
Small group counseling: You may work with several students at one time with similarities and the school counselor on different topics. Invitations will be sent home directly with the student or emailed out to the contact listed on PowerSchool.
Whole Group Lessons: The school counselor may deliver whole group lessons during Cobra time on a variety of topics.
Coping Apps
These apps can be downloaded on your phone/tablet to promote mindfulness and a positive mindset!
How many negative thoughts have been endlessly repeating in your mind? Daily affirmations help rewire our brains, build self esteem and change negative thought patterns. Empower yourself by verbally affirming your dreams and ambitions. Choose from many daily intentions and set reminders to be delivered throughout the day.
Clear Fear provides you with a range of ways to manage the symptoms of anxiety.
Developed by a clinician co-collaboratively with young people, Clear Fear uses a Cognitive Behavioral framework to help you change anxious thoughts and emotions, alter anxious behaviors and calm fear responses. It also has helpful descriptions of the different ways in which anxiety presents, resources and a 'grit box' to boost resilience.
