In the PowerSchool grade book, I use 0 and the note code “M” to indicate that a student didn’t turn in a particular assignment, and it is missing. "M" means missing.
If an assignment has the code "I" for incomplete, it means that the score is not due to poor performance, rather the student turned in the assignment with parts of it undone.
If the grade is blank, that means I simply haven’t entered grades for that particular assignment. In that case, it doesn’t count toward the grade positively or negatively.
Assignment instructions and due dates are posted in Google Classroom and on the Google Calendars on the Home page. Students are expected to respect assignment deadlines and turn work in on time. Late work is not accepted.
If students are absent the day before and/or the day an assignment is due, they will have one day after their return for every day missed to turn in the missing assignment, in accordance with CMCSS policy. Codes and notes will be put in PowerSchool.
Students who are caught cheating on assignments in my class, this includes copying other students' work, copying responses from the internet, or plagiarizing minor, major, and reflective writing pieces will receive a 0 on the assignment with a C in comments for cheating on the assignment.
Any piece of writing turned in for a grade that does not meet the length and/or topic requirements, or is a summary of the text/task cannot be adequately graded by the writing rubrics, and therefore would receive a capped grade of a 50, and will be coded DNMR for "Does Not Meet Requirements".
Writing piece make-up policy applies in this situation.
