Meet the Teacher

It is so great to meet you!

I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I am a mom to two amazing children (Hannah and Trevor) who both love to play soccer and I have been married to my husband, Steve, for 21 years. We love to travel and watch sports together. Teaching is a calling that can directly impact the future. I take this calling seriously and strive to help the students entrusted to me to grow into social and intellectual individuals who will be positive, productive citizens in the future. Children need to know that they are valued for their own individual unique talents, personalities, and talents. I am excited to share this year with your children.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe that it is my job to establish a classroom community where all students feel valued and are able to express themselves in their own unique ways. I strive to provide a positive classroom environment where students are eager to follow the high expectations that are set for them and are able to be responsible learners. I set high expectations for all of my students and instill in them that with some hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. I believe that education has to be an individual, unique experience for every student who enters my classroom. It is my responsibility to get to know my students individually so that I can tailor my lessons to best fit their needs. I strive to bring enthusiasm and creativity to my classroom in order to develop a love of learning and to create lifelong learners within my students.

Teaching Experience

I have been teaching for a little more than twenty years. I have primarily taught in the first grade classroom throughout my career. I have a Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in language arts and I have a Master's Degree with a specialization in designing curriculum and instruction.
