AR (Accelerated Reader)

In second grade, students will participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. At the beginning of each quarter, students will receive an individual reading goal to work toward. They will have opportunities to take AR quizzes on books they read (within their reading range) in the library and classroom. 

To support appropriate book selection, students will take the STAR test each quarter. This assessment helps determine their current reading level and guides them toward books that are “just right” for their reading growth.
