This year in English will be very exciting. We will start with one of the most popular 8th grade novels, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. We will also read informational texts as we develop our annotating and comprehension skills.
Writing will focus on developing a central idea and supporting details to create a narrative essay, and later informative/explanatory and argumentative pieces. It is going to be a great year of English learning!
There are A LOT of resources on this page. Feel free to check them out -- some we will use, some we won't, but the ones we DO use will be posted on Classroom so you don't have to scroll up and down this page on a hunt for the right link. 😁
