About Me
Hello!! My name is Katie Schwacofer Yates and I love teaching kindergarten! I first began teaching in Clovis Unified as a substitute teacher in 2010. Since then, I have worked as a reading intervention teacher for grades 1-4, a long-term substitute for 1st grade, and a kindergarten teacher. The 2018-2019 school year marks the beginning of my 7th year as a kindergarten teacher and my 6th year working at Temperance-Kutner.

I earned a bachelor's degree, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Master's in Education degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education, all from California State University, Fresno.

I believe in always learning, treating each other with kindness, and making sure each child feels valued. It is my goal that my students leave my classroom not only with a mastery of the academic standards, but also with a love of learning, kindness in their hearts, and an understanding that they are special.
