Born in Michigan, raised in Ohio, I'm a "Midwest Girl" who moved to California in the early 2000's. My career has been an interesting and quirky combination of many different fields, from education to corporate to non-profit, which has given me a pretty well-rounded perspective as a teacher. I've been a Litigation Administrator, a Director of Communications, a writing tutor, have written and directed dramas, done nearly everything in theater from acting to costumes to props to stage managing, and I love just about anything creative: gardening, music, sewing, painting, singing, etc.
My husband Mark and I just celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this past August (woo hoo! - the very early days are pictured above), and we have two wonderful children who are in their 20's.
For 11 years we had our "furbaby" Pepper, our black labradoodle, who kept us laughing all the time and was the best cure for a tough day.
Sadly, we lost Pepper three years ago, but this past summer we added a new friend to the family: a chocolate double-doodle named Mr. Bennett!
I studied overseas two different years during my time in college (ask me where!)
My middle name (ask me!) is the name of a Loch in Scotland.
(See if you can find it on Google Maps!)
I have been part of three different Handbell Choirs and performed with them in four countries.
