The intent of the ASES Program is to provide safe and educationally enriching alternatives for children and youth during non-school hours. The ASES Program is created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment, and safe, constructive alternatives for students in grades K-6. One of the goal of the program is to support local efforts to improve assistance to students and broaden the base of support for education in a safe, constructive environment. The ASES Program provides students with academic and enrichment activities, and keep children safely off the streets. The program also provides a wide variety of benefits to participating students including: improved school attendance, English fluency, academic success, crime prevention, and social-emotional skill development.
