Step 2 ~ Start Your "About Me" Page
Help your teacher and fellow students learn more about you, how you're unique and different, and what you would love to become. While you have some time to consider all this, it's never to early to begin thinking about your future! Use lots of pictures to help us see who you are, just remember to make sure these picture are school appropriate.
Step 3 ~ Start Your "Learner Profile" Page
What do you look like as learner? What are the different ways you love to learn? Knowing this about yourself give you power in understanding how to take on new learning . If you know you love to sketch out your ideas to visualized your learning use this strategies in areas of information you're struggling to understand.
Maybe you know you need to hear more information other than what your teacher is giving. Pull up YouTube and find a video that supports the information your teacher is sharing so you can hear it over and over. Math students another great resource for math videos is Khan Academy. These video can break down steps for problems that maybe you had forgotten.
Step 4 Learner Profile ~ Developing Your Attitude Toward Failure
Don't be discouraged by failure! The more times you can fail, get back up, and try again, the more you'll begin to experience growth. Many people are very afraid to fail, but it's really important to realize failure is part of the growth process. What is most important is how you think about failure and what action you take after failure. Find a quote that will motivate you! Put a picture of this quote at the top of your profile page to keep this mindset in front of you as a continual reminder!

Step 5 ~ How to Determine my Strengths and Weaknesses in How I Access, Engage in & Express Learning
Growing as a student learning will reveal your strengths and challenges. Celebrate your strength and consider how you can overcome your challenges. Using goals are a perfect way to set babysteps in overcoming these challenges. Work with your teacher to determine these challenges and potential steps you could take to over come these struggles.
Think how you're good about accessing your learning as well as the challenges you have in getting to your learning. Another consideration is how do you like to engage in learning and how do you struggle in the learning process. Finally, think about how you're really good about expressing your learning or where do you struggle in expressing your growth as a learning . All of these areas a key's to your success in setting your plan to set goals in helping you overcome learning challenges. Information and knowledge is the power to your student learning growth!
Step 6 ~ Learner Profile ~ Facing Your Challenges and Setting Goals
You can do it! Don't give up! Keep remembering your goals to help you overcome the challenges you face with learning. A huge component for setting goals is think about baby steps you can take. When we try to do to much, we're more than likely to quit when we don't see the success we want.
To set a goal, identify an area you want to improve in as a learner, Think about the steps you need to take to overcome and improve. Your teacher can give you some great tips about these areas. When you have an idea, think about the smallest step you can take, then take it. When you've feel confident in that step, consider the next step you can take to get even better. Keep taking those baby steps of progress and before you realize it, you'll look back and see progress you can be proude of. Make sure you share this progress in your portfolio. It's so important to document your growth and the excitement and challenges you experienced through the process. You can do it!!!
