Most Google Cloud classes use Qwiklabs for hands-on exercises. In order to start a lab, you must
Be logged into Qwiklabs.
Have opened the current class (by clicking the "purple box").
You should see a list of labs. Note that you can't start a lab until it is enabled by the instructor. Labs are enabled for a set period of time. After that, the labs will automatically be disabled again.
This is a summary of the steps to start a lab. For detailed explanations, look at the video or slide deck below.
Click the name of the lab on the list. The lab instructions will open in a 2nd tab; navigate to that tab.
Click Start Lab. Wait for the lab setup to complete. Note that the lab will automatically end when the timer expires.
When the lab is ready, note the information on the instruction page: user name, password, project id, and instructions.
Right-click Open Cloud Console and then choose Open Link in Incognito Window. (If using a browser other than Chrome, or if incognito access is restricted, see the troubleshooting page for options.)
A third tab will open for the Google Cloud Console. Use this new tab to login, using the credentials from step 3. You must accept any terms and conditions.
Once you are logged into the Google Cloud Console, verify that the user name and project match the credentials in step 3.
Follow the directions on the instruction page (the 2nd tab) to complete the lab tasks.
Click End Lab when you have finished.
