Please Note: This schedule is subject to change throughout the school year. It is our typical schedule, but special events and activities may cause unforeseen changes. Unexpected, one-time changes will be communicated via Class Dojo and ongoing schedule changes will be adjusted on this page.

8:20-8:50 Students May Enter Building

During this time, students may enter the building and drop off their things in the classroom. Then, they will go outside for recess. The tardy bell rings at 8:50.

8:50-9:00 Check Planner + Read

During this time, students will read a book while I check their planner and give them a Dojo point if everything was completed.

Math

During this time, students will complete one Envision lesson every day, which include whole class instruction and independent practice. These lessons will be supplemented with math stations and enrichment activities/projects, including technology, small group teacher support, and reinforcing activities from our math curriculum.

Chapter Book Read Aloud + Reading Mini-Lesson

Every day, we will read a chapter from a chapter book together that we will use for class discussion of many reading and writing topics. These chapter books will be used in many ways and are chosen for a reason. Chapter books are chosen in relation to one another and to reading, writing, science and social studies standards. This is my favorite part of every day!

During this time, students will also engage in a reading lesson about that week/month's reading focuses. These lessons may include picture book read alouds, hands-on activities, real-world experiences, author studies, and many reading-aligned activities.

Reading Workshop

During Reading Workshop, students will work on a checklist while I call reading groups to meet with me. Students will work on reading responses, i-Ready lessons, word work, handwriting, typing, and a variety of options they can choose from, including math enrichment, test preparation, project-based learning, Google Classroom seat work, and novel projects. Students will also work on short writing projects during this time.

Writing

During this time, students will work on writing projects. We complete a variety of writing projects including opinion, informative, and narrative writing styles. Our major writing projects will include guided instruction with modeling, independent writing, and will integrate science and social studies standards, as well as all grammar standards.

Science Or Social Studies

We alternate science and social studies units, so students will never have both subjects at the same time. Students will occasionally be asked to study for social studies tests at the end of a unit or complete a project at home.

12:35-1:35 Lunch + Recess

Students go to lunch at this time. When they are done eating, they will go to recess.

Fundations

Every afternoon, students will receive explicit phonics instruction.

Specials

The specials schedule is as follows:

Monday: Gym and Art

Tuesday: Gym and Library

Wednesday: Library

Thursday: Connections

Friday: Music

Intervention + Enrichment

During this time, students will engage in intervention and enrichment. This will be a time where no new instruction is occurring in the classroom, which is a very unique and exciting time to dig into areas where students can be supported or stretched! Power Readers may leave during this time, students may work on enrichment projects and activities, and math and reading instruction will be reinforced. This chunk of time will change daily as student needs change.

3:15 Loop Line Dismissed

At this time, loop line is dismissed.

3:20 Bus Riders Dismissed

At this time, bus riders will begin loading buses.
