The registration form allows you to select your preferred time slots. Time slots are given on a first come first served basis.

Schools may register more than one group, or play.

Who can be part of the festival?

A teacher or community member must register their group. Productions may be directed by teachers, student teachers, students, or a community volunteer. Individual directors may direct multiple plays.

What kind of Plays can go to the festival?

Diversity of play material makes this festival that much more entertaining! We accept student/teacher written plays, or purchased plays. Please indicate which catergory you are entering on your registration form. You can also pre-record a play and submit it for adjudication.

Is there a cost?

Costs for this festival are covered by a collobration between the Department of Education and Early Years, the Public Schools Branch, the Commission Scolaire de la Langue Francaise, and the Candian National Theater School. Registration is free.

Transportation

Schools are responsible to provide transportation to the event. It is possible to co-ordinate with other particpating schools to ride share. Please contact the festival organizer to consider options.

Adjudication

Adjudication is provided in written (following the session) and audio recording form (by email). A 15-mins masterclass with one of the adjudicators is held following the tech session. These comments are constructive feedback to help refine the play for its public performance.

How long can my play be?

To be eligible for the festival, each production must be over 5 minutes and under 60 minutes. In addition to performance time, each play has 20 minutes to set up, and warm up.

REcordings

A video recording of the tech and blocking session is provided by email. The public performance will be hosted on our PRODUCTIONS page.
