All students and staff have been working to create a school-wide art project, which will be displayed by the music rooms. For this project, we read the book "The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be" by Joanna Gaines. Then, we all coloured a hot air balloon!
We had to look around the room to find our friends names! Then we practiced reading and writing them. Some were pretty tricky to find!
We had LOTS of fun exploring paint. We practiced mixing colours, sharing, and we even painted pictures for our friends. Then after we painted, we worked together to clean up the mess!
We love exploring different blocks during morning centres. We have been creating patterns, building houses, and balancing bears!
In our Friday morning message, we had to count how many letters were in the name of the kid of the day! Then, we compared her name to the helper of the day. We noticed that her name has 3 more letters than the helper's name.
We all counted the number of letters in our name, and built it with cube-a-links. My name has 4 letters, so I traced 4 cube-a-links. Then I filled out the 10 frame, wrote 4 tally marks, and I decided that I wish I had 4 flowers.
We had lots of fun building rods of cube-a-links to match the number of letters in our names.
Then we compared our rods with our friends. Some were the same, and some were different!
We have been doing a great job with our class reward system! So far, we have earned 6 pumpkins on the 10-frame. We only need 4 more pumpkins until we can have a P.J day!
We have all agreed that we are going to work really hard this week on listening, helping each other, and being kind to each other.
